Job Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and monitoring of all policies, and procedures needed for the echo lab including billing, testing, contrast, etc.
Qualifications:
Requires 2 years related experience and training in Sonograph. Minimum Education required is Associate Degree in science or equivalent, and registry from the ARDMS or RCIS in echocardiography. A current American Heart Association CPR certification for Healthcare Providers is required. Secure knowledge of Ultrasound Physics, M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, echocardiography, and vascular ultrasound. Knowledge of arrhythmias, acute and non-acute, computer knowledge, and medical terminology. Able to work with equipment for testing. Requires accuracy and ability to coordinate and prioritize workday efficiently. Computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Windows Suite (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Power Point, Outlook). Proficiency with office machines such as facsimile/copy/printer/scanner. Strong communication skills required. Must be able to handle stress and deadlines. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or scheduling format.
Essential Job Functions and Requirements:
Works with research Dept. on all new projects involving echocardiography, and is flexible with their schedule to receive necessary training for new research projects.
Responsible for training and supervision of Echo Techs.
Responsible for schedules of Echo Techs to meet the clinical needs. Keeps a calendar of all techs time off and makes sure there is coverage at all offices (PTO tracking).
Prepares annual evaluations for Echo Techs.
Monitors attendance of Echo Techs in accordance to company policy.
Sends out monthly newsletters to give the techs at the other offices a chance to know how things are going, what we need to work on, and any new changes in policies, as well as giving others the opportunity to address anything that they may be concerned with.
Travels to other offices when needed to cover shifts.
Assist in making sure all original testing has been copied and sent to be transcribed and attached into the patient’s charts.
On daily basis, checks billing of all offices to ensure our billing is accurate, and we are receiving our revenue.
Has the ability to instruct a student from the Community College of Southern Nevada (usually 3 days a week per semester).
Has the ability to evaluate the other Echo Technicians in their scanning abilities and their ability to instruct a student from the college.
Responsible for ultrasound/sonographic examinations including; two dimensional, Doppler, M-mode, Stress Echo, Contrast, Carotid and Peripheral Vascular Ultrasounds.
Responsible for patient relations including; providing information to patients and family member’s information regarding CCN practice.
Able to assist in clinical/technical testing execution including; EKG’s, blood pressure measurements, cardiac monitoring etc.
Responsible for liaison communication between technical staff and other CCN departments, physicians, and outside agencies.
Responsible for assisting in performing activities necessary to deliver quality patient care.
