Device Technician

Job Summary:
Responsible for the development, coordination and maintenance of pacemaker/device clinic at CCN. Position also requires a variety of back office general clinical/technical tasks in direct support of the physicians.

Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of 2 years experience in performing blood pressures, treadmill stress testing. Pacemaker checks, Holter monitor applications, EKGs, preparation of patients for office visits, scheduling and computer background. A current American Heart Association CPR certification for Healthcare Providers is required. Requires knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology. Minimum Education required is high school diploma or equivalent. Requires accuracy and ability to coordinate and prioritize workday efficiently. Computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Windows Suite (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Power Point, Outlook). Proficiency with office machines such as facsimile/copy/printer/scanner. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and human relations skills. Strong communication skills required, with the ability to speak clearly and concisely. Must be detail oriented. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. Must be able to handle stress and deadlines. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or scheduling format.

Essential Job Functions and Requirements:
  • Responsible for patient preparation including reception and patient record is complete prior to being seen by Physician.
  • Responsible for patient relations including providing information to patients and family members regarding CCN practice and Physicians.
  • Responsible for clinical/technical testing execution including EKG’s, blood pressure measurements, and pacemakers.
  • Responsible for liaison communication between technical staff and other CCN departments, physicians, and outside agencies.
  • Responsible for assisting in performing activities necessary to deliver quality patient care including patient exam rooms, patient education materials, pharmacy prescriptions, laboratory results, performs patient physical exam when applicable.
  • Responsible for patient care and safety including patient care, environment, medications, and equipment.
  • Responsible for pacemaker/device clinic management and coordination including pacemaker checks, pacemaker computer, development and implementation of policies and assisting co-workers with pacemakers.
  • Accepts all other duties assigned.
